Sean is a primary school and private tutor with 20 years experience. Having taught in international schools around the world, including being a department lead at Dulwich Shanghai for 8 years, he has a broad knowledge and experience which he regularly brings to the classroom. Sean is also an avid sports enthusiast and was the founder of the English team in the Shanghai expat league!

After getting his Psychology degree and Qualified Teacher Status in 2000, Sean taught both English and Math to upper primary in international schools in Sri Lanka and Shanghai, before moving back to England to homeschool his own children.

Sean has extensive experience in private tutoring also. He has taught 11plus and SATS in numerous subjects while he was also homeschooling his kids. Sean really brings a lot of extra knowledge to his lessons which really gets the students interested.

Apart from teaching, Sean is also a humour and philosophy writer with a published book and a large following on twitter. He also plays football, cricket and chess. One of Sean’s proudest life moments was when he drew in chess with a candidate grandmaster! His current pet project is teaching himself the piano.

Sean’s lessons are an adventure. He loves giving the kids something to think about and helping them to understand the significance of their work. He’s very patient and encouraging but not afraid to call students out when they are not doing their best work.
